Someone at TheVibe.net reported that he recently acquied a 4-octave DeMorrow vibraphone - is there anyone familiar with this brand? Any opinions? Nico?

As I've mentioned many times one of my perks for running this site is getting to meet and talk with my idols. Terry is one of them, and we've had a couple long phone calls talking about all sorts of things.

I happened upon this clip on YouTube from 1998. It features vibes/percussion master Emil Richards, Joe Porcaro on drums and a young conguero, Cosimo Lampis. This is from a master class in Sardinia (wherever that is!). I think this is one of Emil's original tunes. Great stuff!

about a month ago, i thought i would transcribe the Tom Harrel solo on "i remember you", but first i needed to learn it. I learned it in one key, and then discovered it is in another on the video (a flat).

Since my favourite musical companion a flutist is on maternity leave for another year now I started to check out other hobbyist people to make music with. So far I haven’t been very successful. One guitar player I met who was quite on an equal level to me and was a quite nice person. However suddenly he was no more reachable for me without any further notice. Another guitar player who was a nice person as well turned out to be a low level beginner (although he had tons of equipment) – he also quickly disappeared.
