I play 'My Foolish Heart' and Joe Comps!
Wow!
Nadja just put on line this new video from JazzBaltica summer 2008.
Joe Locke and Sticks and String re-visiting Saturn's Child... with Rosario Giuliani as guest... Oh man!
I love the way that video was recorded, with close shots of Joe's grip (beginning) and of other musicians in there thoughtfull playings.
A huge solo from Rosario (3'48), who quite often plays with Joe, but whom we don't see enough on videos.
I also truly dug the vibes/guitar double voice speach, especially from 6'10... wow!
Oh... man...
Enjoy! :o)
Here are some etudes on the tune Cherokee.
Here's the Cherokee etude. It's sooo hard, I'm burnt out on it! I give up.
I wanted to play a bass line over a head. You can't do it over a solo really, but over a head I thought it was possible. I think it's a technique that can be interspersed in a tune or solo. I don't think anyone should strive to play a baseline through a whole tune.
Here's my final version of CHE RO KEE
The etude is here:

Here's a lesson plan. you could refer to a beginner, intermediate or advance lesson(s).
Note from Tony:
Something is missing from here:
This is from 2009 and we lose stuff when we convert to new versions of the software.
So.....
Here is the section on chords: This is years worth of work. Find something work on it, do it, play it, then move on to something else. It's the best way to use this site.

Vibes are booming in France as anywhere else in the world. Classically educated guys like Frank Tortiller are establishing new standards. I really dig this. Do you ?
