I am on the cd label Steeplechase now and I have become buddies with the owner. 

We are having amazing talks about his recordings that go back to 1972. Lately it's been of Walt Dickerson. He sent me this picture of Walt from his solo recording on Steeplechase from 1977.

There is also a duo album with Sunra. Nils told me Sunra wore headphones and listened to a ball game whiler they recorded the duo. That's crazy but then he was!

Who is Gene Estes?

I saw this title of his record and knew nothing about him and just thought I'd buy it for the arrogance of his title. I've started to listen to it and man he sounds good so far! Serious cat!

Do you guys know about him? There's no recording of this on Youtube. And I think no cds, only this old record I found.

Just picked up an m-75. I think it's the first year they made it because the motor is NOT variable speed. And a Deagan Marimba from the 40s in beautiful condition.

The m-75 is a fantasy instrument of mine. I promised the owner that they would be put to good use. A school is getting the marimba. The m75 is not a good instrument for a student, so I think I'll sell an Omega that I have at a good price. That's much better for a student.
