Hello Vibesworkshoppers,
After several years of playing around NYC on a vintage 1960's Century vibe, I'm thinking of parting with it for a more convenient solution to travel with. I love this set of vibes, one of the best sounding instruments I've ever played on. I believe its from 1962, it still has the old style motor with the start button on the top of the end panel.I have pictures to share, but just wanted to put it out there and see how much interest there is locally. I'd rather not do the whole ebay thing because shipping this would be a hassle. Also, this is kinda my baby and I want it to go to a good home.
It's definitely got some wear and tear, which didn't bother me because I was gigging on it in the city. It was cool until I got rid of my car, and taking car service with this bad boy has been a challenge. I hate to part with it because I absolutely love this instrument, its so easy to play, but I did 3 gigs in Manhattan last week and moving this around is killing me. I'm considering a Yamaha or new Musser one nighter that I can strap down to a hand truck. Vibe is located in brooklyn, hit me up for pics if your interested. I'm not in a hurry to sell.

I agree with Dr Bob and Nico - it sounds like the frame is the issue for you. A VdP frame would allow you to keep the Century as a second vibe at home.
I've always thought that

I've always thought that Musser bars from the 50s and 60s were superior, but there are some who would disagree. If you like your bars you might consider getting a frame from Nico. A new vibe might not ever sound quite right to you.
I agree

I agree with Dr. Bob. Don't part with those bars, Tyler, if you can come up with a more practical frame...
