The Musser replacement is best

I’ve tried 3rd party products on my M55 with less than satisfactory results (buzzing, other issues). I then purchased the Musser replacement product from a local percussion shop. Much better results. They are available from Steve Weiss: https://www.steveweissmusic.com/product/musser-post-isolators/mallet-instrument-parts

I cut my own using a razor blade. I use 7/16"OD X 1/4" ID. SOFT Silicone tubing, food Grade. The only color I have been able to find that works for me is translucent (white-ish color). It helps to get the posts wet so they slip on. It can be a tight fit on the round end posts; you can buy 1/2"OD tubing it's too much trouble. Clean up any drops with a clean towel. Be careful not to scratch or gouge the posts when you take the old insulators off BTW. I'd test 3-4 bars and see if it's what you want. Seems like some orders are softer than others, softer is better.
I stared using silicone because some of the 'store bought' insulators would squeak when I pressed the damper up and down.
