I was reading thru the blogs and found the one that mentions about an injury and down time from practicing. after reading it i new i must share my views and experiences.
Since 1987 i have been fighting an on goin battle with chronic tendonitis in my right hand . Original it was sprained from working on construction in the summers to help pay for music school. the doc at the time didnt catch a hair line fracture. so need less to say ta da i am paying the consiquences. So to make a long story short ill cut to the case...
This is the leadsheet for "Lunch with Pancho Villa". The form of the tune is the same as on the video.
The link to the video fo the tune is above!
I just came from The Jazz Standard, here in NYC, where I saw Mike Pinto tearin' it up w/ Greg Osby's group. Melodic songs, each with its own challenges, and Mike did a beautiful
job navigating the terrain. He's a team player, but the strength of his intentions comes across loud and clear when he gets a chance to open up. It was a pleasure to hear him.

How do I keep up with all the comments and posts?
there's a lot going on on this site and it's picking up each day. If you're a subscriber, you're probably going nuts with all the posts and comments, from guys like Joe Locke, piper, Saindon, Friedman and others. It's incredible how much is happening around here.
So...
In the top menu at the top of the page. you'll see 'Recent Activity'. This is where you can see what's happened lately.
If you just posted a comment, and I look under 'Recent Activity', I'll see the story at the top and '1 New' next to it. That tells me that there's a comment there that i haven't read.
Check this out!!! Please feel free to let me know of any mistakes. I'll appreciate it!!
Trivia Q. How many notes are there in one octave of the vibraphone?
I started transcribing David Friedman's "Lunch with Pancho Villa" from the video in the "Check This Out" link, above.
I am having difficulty with the sticking on the 3rd line and can't make it out in the video. Suggestions would be appreciated. Corrections are appreciated also.
Attached are the LilyPad input and the PDF output files.
Thanks,
Barry
[Update 10/16/08: Changed syncopated 8ths to tied 16ths]
Douglas Walter contacted me first, so he'll get a masterclass. He teaches at the University of Colorado. I'm hoping to video the workshop and i'll post it here!
