Had a little time today between classes and ran through Chick's composition "Desert Air". Chick and Gary recorded a brilliant version on their debut recording "Crystal Silence", one of my favorite recordings. I remember seeing Gary play this solo during the 70s at a club in Boston called The Jazz Workshop. It was spectacular. This is a great but tough tune with odd bar phrasing and unusual chord progressions and modulations.

學敘事曲（Ballad）的第一件事，是學會弦律（Melody）

如果只打旋律，你聽不到聲音（心中沒有曲子的聲音），你就要去聽這首曲子聽CD。

重點是”演奏旋律”，然後心中想像著和聲進行的聲響。


一定要先去聽這首曲子，確定你記得了旋律，知道和聲聲響。再來到樂器前面演奏。

你也可以左手演奏Bass，幫助自己聽到曲子的和聲進行。

This month I will cover some basic Ideas for learning chords progression so that you'll never forget them!

These two masters mostly appear on a big stage for a big concert. Here they play for a small audience in a small, relaxed setting.

It's been a while since I've had time to post anything, since the 7 weeks of bebop really. I think it's a cool idea to do a similar thing with ballads.

In anticipation, here's a take on one of my favourite ballads. This is sorta where I'm at with solo playing on a ballad these days.
