Assignment from Tony: post a video of an etude from the Friedman book

It's great to see that so many people have weighed in on the legacy of Bobby Hutcherson, and expressed how important his music has been to them personally. I was lucky enough to speak (briefly) with Bobby on the phone, a few months back, when I was attempting to arrange an interview with him for the soon-to-be-released book, "Masters of the Vibes: Conversations with the Great, Living Jazz Vibraphonists." Unfortunately, I wasn't able to interview Bobby, as his health was not stellar in recent times. Instead, I wrote an homage to him, from my personal perspective.

Here's a quick and dirty performance of Blues for Alice.

Some of you guys know that I really believe that putting your stuff out there is a great way to get better! That means playing in public, giving college concerts, playing in jam sessions and also posting on the internet. This is a fairly new way of putting your stuff out there.

The thing is you will try harder if you're putting your stuff out there and that's why you get better.

I just decided to give myself 1 hour to come up with a decent version of this tune and post it.
