Does anyone have, or know of, a Xylosynth in my area that I could try?
Location: Abbotsford, BC, Canada (but I'm willing to go as far South as Seattle, Washington and as far West as North Vancouver, BC).
Looking to locally sell my M55 and purchase a 3 octave (F-F) Xylosynth, as I'm thinking of taking an extended trip to Australia and I couldn't stand being without a mallet instrument. Especially since I just spent the last year practicing to acquire a diploma on drum set, and missed playing my vibes the whole time.
I was practicing 2nds over this tune. I thought I'd post it to see who recognizes it. The rules here are you can only let me know you know the tune in one of 2 ways.
1. Just tell me you know what tune it is.
2. Play the tune back to me without the melody and using it as an etude to study 2nds.
I do give it away at one point.
I love this gamE :-)
We've talked about doing some lesson about working with singers. And they're coming, they're on my list.
I've spent the last month down here in St. Maarten working with a singer and a bass player. They're very close friends of mine whom I've known for a few years now.
Here's the video below and you can also download the part and read along.
Practicing ! Practicing ! Practicing !
Some wrong notes in the theme will be fix shortly. This is a 235 BPM speed. I want to reach a good 250 cruise speed, lock the automatic pilot on to be easy, keeping on groovy ..... and good luck !
Only 3 days after Milt's bdate, here we go with wonderful flute/sax master Frank Wess... who truly turned 90 today!!! Wow!!
And... what better pretext could we find to post Milt's Opus de Funk with Frank grooving on flute? Huh? ;-)
Happy Birthday Maestro Wess! Keep swinging! :o)

I listened to Tony's post and thought this was a fun idea. I thought the dominant #11 in the Take The A Train thing was a dead give away though! So I thought it may be really fun to try an obscure standard with less obvious chord motion. As personal punishment for doing this, I've decided to do this in Db in order to make it harder on myself, oh why god!
Here's some additional ideas on line exercises.
What can you find in upper partials?
