I mean this is damn swing!! And I still particularly loved this one, as there is more space given to the duet tap/drum from 2"30...

Have you ever played for a tap dancer ? This happened to me only once, in 1991, when I was still playing drums. At the moment, I'm sorting out a video of that particular club-date that the piano-player, Patrice Galas, sent me. The dancer's name is Fabien Ruiz. He was 27 or 28 years old then, so he's about 50 now (I was 50 then). I remember really enjoying that completely unrehearsed gig, which was two nights in the same club, a real jazz-club where people watched and listened. Fabien took his art seriously, and still does.

man i just wanted to share my thoughts about this great recordings with you. i listened to it today after almost 12 years (the box is from 1995) and i was totally amazed how great these recordings are. i mean i listened it way back when i was just a drummer and liked it a lot but today from a complete different point of view as a vibes player these recordings are so great.

I had a great time getting to know Bruce on a more personal level plus, there's nothing like being face to face with a friend. I've posted a pic of to share with our friends @ the VW. Enjoy!

This is a vibraphone and vocal duet of a piece composed by Rebel Bran. Please give this a good listen and make a comment if you feel compelled.

I've been working with a group called Rebel Bran and the Funky Sexy Orkestar. A silly name yes, but there is some interesting music being played. This is a song entitled Djelem Djelem, which I believe is the anthem of the Roma people. In this project I'm a little outside of my comfort zone, but I am greatly enjoying it. I hope you enjoy this track.
