Lullaby of Birdland - Stride Arrangement (Work-in-Progress) by BarryK
Inspired by Marie and Bernard's Arrangement of Lullaby of Birdland, I created a stride vibes arrangment for solo vibes.
Here is my work-in-progress practice tonight.
PDF and Sibelius files are enclosed.
Hope someone gives it a try.

2 Chord Ballad
Just did this for fun. The form is 2 bars C maj, 2 bars F maj. It's DEFINITELY not perfect in any way, but I just thought it was cool sounding. All vibes, just overdubbed a bunch of times. Let me know what you think!

Beautiful Love - Still Testing out the Malletkat Sounds
the malletkat is great to make playbacks. all sounds here are made only by the malletkat. you have to play different phrasings with different sounds that´s a good exercise too. and its fun :)

Forum Topic: Traditional Grip
I have been using traditional grip when I play jazz vibes....And I have been wondering.....am I alone? I use it because it doesn't cause any blisters and pain and I find it to be very controllable. My high schools marching band makes us use stevens grip which I can't imagine playing chords with...However at the same time I can't imagine playing marching band music with traditional grip! It seems to me that nobody talks about this grip on the site. Is there a reason?

Misty by Marie & Bernard (live)
|
Here is our live version of Misty with my guitarist friend Bernard, yesterday for our little annual gig. The slow tempo allowed me to be more at ease to switch from vibes to voice. Though the melody is not that easy and the key was slighty too high for me. You also need to adapt to the accoustic of the church to hear yourself back and ajust your voice. To studdy the melody on vibes frist truly helped me. Anyway... enjoy. - M
