Feels really good to be back in the Vibesworkshop after a long time! I hope everybody is well and coping with things.
Here is how I incorporated clave on solo vibes, at a recent masterclass at Ithaca College. Give it a try! The turnaround is III-VI-II-V.

You play the head then we trade 2 choruses and then you play and then take the melody out.

You know the drill. This is the tune Four.

You write in the chords, study my voicings.

Are they rootless?
What parts of the chords are there.

Then play it.

The second chorus is a simple solo outling the harmony.

Stand Behind Your Instrument!

Annie is my girlfriend. We live together. she is a very good classical flute player. We sight read together a lot...... and she laughs at me sometimes. My sight reading is not that good.

This post is during the time of the Corona Virus, maybe by the end of this, I'll be a much better sight reader. We will see.

So, I've attached the duet part. Practice it and play along with annie! You can get a chance to be in my shoes!

“Four” - working on the left hand today. This is a work in progress. Trying to keep busy and productive. If I can be of any help with any vibraphone related questions feel free to ask. I have more time on my hands. :) As with most of all the schools, I'll be teaching online starting next week for Berklee. It's going to be interesting.
