My wife and I like to watch British murder mysteries. In many of these, the preferred form of dispatch seems to be blunt objects to the head, hence "Bonk Bonk".
Another great mallet video...
Something different, but well done ! Enjoy !
Ruminations on the marimba this morning with "All The Things You Are" - experimenting with different four mallet techniques/sounds and seeing where it goes. Sometimes it's smooth sailing and sometimes it's off a cliff. Ha!Ha!
I've been slow to warm up to marimba over the decades, but recently I've really come to love the instrument. Most of my resistance was due to me since I didn't own one, plus I didn't see myself ever playing one as a practical gigging instrument. Since I don't gig on vibes anymore, I've really opened my head in terms of marimba and I have to give credit to Evelyn Glennie for that.
It's the most famous "pop" song every written so I had to do it.
Short Sample
This is a project I've been working on for a long time. I'm offering it up as new practice material while isolated due to Coronavirus Lockdown. It's about 1/3 complete but it's a LOT of practice work.
I came up with the idea about 35 years ago, then put it out in a very rough form with intentions of someday making it more user friendly. In the past few years, I add to it it when I feel like messing with it. It's great practice material and is very challenging. I thought I'd add it to the mix here at VW for folks looking for something different to work on while held up at home.
