Clip of Mark and I playing Henry Mancini's great song "The Days of Wine and Roses". Taking after Bill Evans' great version, we play the first half of the tune in F and then modulate to Ab for the 2nd half. I like doing this. It feels like it gives a lift to the tune. Bill does this also with Like Someone in Love. He was a master of playing standards in unusual keys and various modulations.
I love Mark's comment at the end of the clip. Other clips from the gig are up on YT and include All The Things You Are, Darn That Dream, Body and Soul, Topsy and Wave.
Hi guys this tune that i wrote is about pedaling and dampening technique melodies and of course interaction of both hands.
Remeber to play the accompaniment softer than the melody

Hi everyone,
As many of you may know, my debut album "Mindset" was just released last Friday. For anyone interested in purchasing a copy, it's available on the normal sites (Amazon, iTunes: http://smarturl.it/mindset )
I've also been asked about signed copies, which I'd be more than happy and willing to do. For a signed, physical CD, purchase it from my website ( behngillecejazz.com ) and specify "Signed copy" in the PayPal shipping instructions.
Excerpt of All The Things You Are from gig. Always a treat for me to play duo with Mark. And always a fun night to play at Li's (15 minutes from the house) and hang with family and friends. Thanks to Michael DeBruyckere for recording the night.

Hi All,
June is shaping up with two new (to me) vibes players, Phil Kraus and Mitch Shiner. I'll open with Christian Tamburr who I met recently at the memorial ceremony for Bob Masteller. Christian flew in from Las Vegas to be there. I really enjoyed seeing, hearing and meeting him. The occasion was a fantastic celebration for the life of Masteller, owner of the Jazz Corner in Hilton Head. Non-stop musicians and music all afternoon from some of the very best.
Hey guys, here's a clip that I recorded at Berklee this past year which was shot by the Vic Firth production team. Next clip to be released will be a solo marimba clip of Gershwin's classic "Summertime". In the clips, I'm using new mallets that I designed and have been using for awhile now. I was at the Vic Firth headquarters yesterday going over the details of the mallet. The mallets should be out in a month or two. Best, Ed
