Nico, how do we tighten up loose posts?
Hi,
I'm using a Malletkat Pro attached to a Yamaha Motif Rack XS.
The vibraphone sound has a vibrato I would like to get rid of but I couldn't figure out how to make it.
I messed around with the LFO adjustments a little bit but that showed no results.
Any idea, how to turn the vibrato off?
Thanx,
w.
Help guys. this has been a huge problem with my vibes. i have been trying to fix this problem since i got them a year ago. when i purchased it used it had this problem. so i bought a new rail because i thought that that was the problem (it was warped). the new rail seemed to work, but my vibe has started to have this problem again.

Playing beautiful 3 and 4 mallet chordal rolls is a goal all vibes and marimba players should work toward. Yes, vibes players mostly use the pedal to sustain notes, but sometimes using a roll is better. Here is a simple, easy to learn method you can use to play really nice rolls for 3 and 4 part chords. The trick is to have each mallet strike the bar at a different time, creating smooth legato sound.
I've lost a couple gigs recently because they Island I was to go to did not have a set of vibes on it! So I emailed Gary about traveling with a set of vibes. I don't think he'd mind if I posted his response. Sounds like the way to go is with a Traveler set of vibes and cases. Here's his reply:
