I'm writing out variations on a Japanese Folk song for a student with Finale PrintMusic 2010. Problem: the notes I enter via midi appear in the treble staff only (of the double piano staff), while I'd like to split/divide the notes between bass- & treble staff in a way to show what's supposed to be played with the left & right hand (bass clef for left, treble for right).
I'm aware of the possibility of splitting through Hyperscribe, but that would only split at a certain point...
The problem poses itself from measure 17 of the attachmentwhere basically every 2nd note should drop down to the bass-clef staff, while keeping the beams the way they are.
Many thanks 4 suggestions,
Norbert

hey norbert,
i can´t tell you excatly where because it´s long time ago i worked out complicated stuff with finale but i know you can do EVERYTHING. sometimes it´s just complicated to find. i remember there was an option where you can define a pitch for each staff. i think you have to rtfm (read the fu**ing manual).

Ok, Tarik, appreciate Ur reaction.
Of course i searched the help section with several key words before posting this.
The closest I got to the issue is -as I mentioned- the possibility to split the keyboard in Hyperscribe, although that would not help, because i'd have to have some notes above a certain splitting point placed below that and vice-versa.
I attach an example of notation of an existing piece of music to show the idea how i'd like to make it look like.
Maybe this is not possible in the more limited version of "PrintMusic" I use?
Somehow I feel, it shouldn't be too tricky, but reluctant to spend days on end studying manuals.
Hope a solution to this can be of service to more people than myself.

Use the cross staff function of the note mover tool to drag the note from one staff to the other :)

Dana, good to see you back here & thanks 4 the comment.
It's also a matter of getting familiar with the terminology here, like "cross-staff beaming", so we'd know what to serach for etc.
Actually I use "PrintMusic".
Looks like "note mover tool" is supported in full version only.
But thanks for help clearing this up
