Walter Norris - Listen to What He Says About Practicing!

Walter was indeed one of a kind. When I came to Berlin he had already been here fo several years, techong privately and playing around. When I became head of the jazz department at the University of the Arts here in Berlin, Walter was already teaching at the University. He was uncompromisng, sometimes painfully honest in his criticism of his students. Unfortunately we nver got to play together but I heard him many times and was impressed by his unique style and relentless commitment to his art. To be honest, we didn't always see eye to eye in terms of teaching, but I always respected him as a musician.
He is definitely somebody to check out.
