Hi everyone!
I'm wondering if anyone has found any general at home solutions to helping squeaky pedals? I have a Musser M55 and am noticing a lot of pedal squeaks especially if my pedal is tilted to the side in any way. I am just looking to see if anyone has any advice on how to troubleshoot or help quiet this even a little bit.
I appreciate any ideas you may have!!

Machine oil works well too. I have a little bottle made by Singer for sewing machines that does the trick. Just be sure to wipe the excess oil with a paper towel.
Depends on how old it is...

If it is newer and it has nylon washers, WD-40 can be a problem option because it degrades those; it is excellent for metal on metal. Graphite grease can be better for the nylon parts, but generally they don’t squeak unless they are worn out, so replacing the nylon parts is a good idea.
Beyond all that, a little plumber’s Teflon tape can help tighten up a hinge that is loose and dampen squeaking in the process.
One note if you have a much older M55: the screw that goes through the pedal is only threaded on the very end. The smooth part that goes through the connecting rod will wear out and become asymmetrical in time. You can purchase a replacement screw with the correct length and thread easily, but it won’t be the proper diameter at the point which goes through the connecting rod; no worries. Any model train supply can sell you miniature brass pipe that can be used as a sheath and it will be slippery by comparison to the steel, so it will be quieter and last longer.
