When we learn I think it's best to break things down into small chunks. Learn a piece move on, put a couple pieces together. That's the way I do it. So let's take this simple beginning of the tune and work on it.

Melodic Structures: advanced applications (part 2) -V

In this video we apply the melodic structures into a basic Im-bVI-IIm7b5-V7alt minor cadence using the proper cell for each chord:

m7: 1-b3-4-5

Maj7: 1-2-3-5 

m7b5: 1-b3-4-b5

dom7: 1-b9-3-5 or 1-b9-3-#5 or 1-#9-3-#5

You Fill In The missing Voicing

Here are three, two five, one progressions. 

Good voice leading for the most part is lazy voice leading. That means: 

  1. you usually won't move the note if it's in the next chord.
  2. you will move whatever voicings have to move but to the closest note in the next chord. 

With that in mind you figure this puzzle out. I'll attach the answers, but don't look until you're tried this out!
