Looking for advice on what equipment to recording video with? Would like to be able to record audio through my focusrite interface and computer and the video at the same time.
I’m not an expert at video (among us here, I think Tony has the most elaborate video setup) but, in the last two weeks, I have gotten into that game and In learning fast. So...
I do understand the audio piece and am beginning to get how to integrate the two successfully. I say this not just to you, but to any person here on the site:

How can I connect a DSLR or video camera with HDMI output to my Mac for live streaming on Zoom? Can I also specify using my Scarlet audio interface instead of using the camera’s audio?
Unfortunately PC! I have Logitech c922 webcam and a Focusrite Saffire Pro 40 (older firewire, but still works great). I guess my question should be - does anyone know of a good video program for PC that will allow me to use the saffire's asio drivers?

you know the other you could do is by a zoom q2 or whatever the latest is. that's audio and video in a good cam. then you could probably solve all your problems.

No doubt quite late here- but I'm happy to offer help to anyone wanting to get a setup ready.
I've livestreamed with my home rig, an Extron SMP 351 for work, from my PC to Instagram Live (using Yellowduck), and to Reddit from my phone using a powered USB hub etc. etc.
Reddit's stream quality is sketchy-- but if you set up good audio inputs to your phone and stream to Reddit, thousands of people will stop by! Kind of neat, even if they just scroll past.
Anyways--
I use a Focusrite 18i20 and I take outs 3-4 and send them BACK IN to inputs 1 and 2 on the front. In Focusrite Control I mute inputs 1-2 for whatever comes out of outputs 3-4 so a feedback loop doesn't start. Maybe this is a ratchet way of doing it, but it's been reliable.
Doing that, I get ALL the sound from my computer, FL Studio, etc. etc. while making vids. I don't collect any camera audio.
Answering your specific question about video-- you can have your camera recording while letting your DAW record your playing separately and then sync the audios later.
But if you're doing stuff ON your DAW, you need a way to record that even while starting and stopping recording. Then you could use OBS studio to collect your sound from your computer, DAW, and you could use it to capture your camera as well if desired (using a capture card).
I don't know if any of this is helpful-- definitely hit me up and I can demo on Zoom!

Also are you mac or pc?
On mac you can simply use Quicktime Player and bring in your focusrite and your camera.

yes i use my scarlet. in the settings you will pick the camera and the audio source. it's that easy.
not sure about the dslr i would suggest buying a good web cam. 200 bucks.
otherwise, i'd just buy some adapters and connect everything and see if it sees it.
