Cal Tjader and AnitA O'Day (Check out the Album)

Here are links to a couple cuts off of youtube off of the album "Anita O'Day Cal Tjder Time for Two".  I love that the vibes can be heard but they don't overshadow Anita's singing.  

Is this new for anyone else?

I really like Anita O'day! This is great!

Anita I heard talked 'like a truck driver'. I heard a couple interviews where she sounded like 'one of the guys'.

I also heard Mel Torme trash her! But I'm a fan!

a full throated, but svinging and breathy voice (that I love) a bit like Blossom Dearie in the clear but laid back phrasing/timing.

Not afraid to be both a lady and a woman. NICE !
