As I've mentioned many times one of my perks for running this site is getting to meet and talk with my idols. Terry is one of them, and we've had a couple long phone calls talking about all sorts of things.

I happened upon this clip on YouTube from 1998. It features vibes/percussion master Emil Richards, Joe Porcaro on drums and a young conguero, Cosimo Lampis. This is from a master class in Sardinia (wherever that is!). I think this is one of Emil's original tunes. Great stuff!

Here's another tune I wrote a couple of years ago. This one was inspired by watching the movie Casino Royale (the 1960's version). Hence the title and the feel of the tune.

I go to a high school where during each of your three underclassman years you do a one week internship in whatever you want. Anyone have any good vibe related ideas/leads? Anything in performance or craftsmanship would be really cool. I live in Columbus, Ohio and although I can leave the state, keep in mind that I must find some sort of lodging.

A really nice solo performance by Ted.

Ok in the spirit of sharing and being an open community I thought I would share with you guys a new song I'm writing for my new album that I'll be recording in February. The song is not finished by any means but you can hear this early version and go through it with me as I attempt to form it into its final product. Theres a bunch of mistakes and some awkward transitions, but thats all part of developing the piece.

about a month ago, i thought i would transcribe the Tom Harrel solo on "i remember you", but first i needed to learn it. I learned it in one key, and then discovered it is in another on the video (a flat).
