Reason 4

" The Cookie" some fun with reason 4 ... the vibe trax was a sampled plug in. played on my casio...lol.... technology is an amazing thing .. such a long ways from the atari st40

the song has ended up as a the backing music to a dvd series on piercings and tattooing. kinda crazy to me .. cause i dont have a tattoo and i hate needles...lol

revisiting a bit of mingus

the works of mingus has been a profound influence on my musical concept as a whole. Not only was it mingus himself as a player and composer but rather his personel, so many amazing improviser.... Aways this my stab at this tune ... very much a rehearsal aka sunday jam with some local guys. kinda funny the bass player started playing this progression, next we know we are in the middle of Good bye Pork pie hat.... memory was a little hazy for the melody so i turned it in to more of a theme to improvise off of.

would be excited to hear your thoughts ...

All Night Long

All Night Long is a film that takes place in London's jazz scene of the early 1960s, this updating of Shakespeare's 'Othello' features a strong cast (the late Patrick McGoohan as a brilliant jazz drummer who is very opportunistic and Richard Attenborough), as well as appearances by some of the best known names from the jazz world such as Charlie Mingus, Dave Brubeck, Johnny Dankworth, Keith Christie, former lead and solo trombone from the great Ted Heath band, and the late Tubby Hayes, who apparently has been getting some attention and discussion here on vibes workshop.
