Vibes Workshop April Percussive Arts Society Article!

I'm happy to announce that Joe Locke, Tony Miceli (me), Ed Saindon, Patty Franceschi and Tjaco Oostdijk have been working on an article for PAS magazine. The article will be in the April issue of the magazine. Supplemental material will be here for when the article comes out.

If all goes well a lot of vibe players will be coming to the site. I will open up all the Giant Steps material for everyone to see for month or 2.

Till There Was You Etude by Tony Miceli - Etude

Here's an etude for you to play. It's a voice melody on the tune - 'Till There Was You.

I played this right into Logic. So you're hearing the version from the MalletKat! It dampens great!!! You just have to touch up the midi data when you're done.

I've tifooed this. Which means included audio, midi and xml files. (Tifoo is a member and he uses all this to study the tunes.

xml will help you import into other music programs besides finale.

I left the chord symbols off. You should try and figure them out and post it here. I can't do all the work! :-)

Not vibraphone, but good good vibes! - "Let's don't Worry"

Hey everybody!

I got this link from my super harpist technician buddy from myspace George Flores.

Maybe some of you already saw this?

It's not vibraphone, but wow, it's good good vibes! :o)

Enjoy and keep it up!

MN

P.S.: I like the funny French accent of the first guitarist! Haha!... And every single musician is such a great symbol! Beautiful!

Wolfgang Schlüter - all I know about him

Hi Philippe!

Almost the only thing I know about Wolfgang Schlüter is a record (LP) I have - it is called Houseboat released 1978 under MPS (0068.206; MPS 15.535). As far as I know this LP was never released as CD.

I briefly checked Youtube but with no result for Wolfgang Schlüter.

Here are some links to websites giving some info on WS: - sorry but all German language.

Vince Guaraldi Tifoo's versions

Here are my two practice versions of Vince Guaraldi etude by TM.
The first one is a normal playing version, and the second one is an attempt to use the 2 hands separately.
I don't play the head entirely, I start improvising over the chords quite fast...
This is where I am today with this tune that I really enjoy playing... go ahead, tell me what you see/hear...I'm here to make pogress
