My Electric Trio in NYC tonight

Time

Hey Folks,
I rarely do this, but just wanted to make a quick announcement that if you're in the NYC area tonight my Electric Project will be performing at Cornelia St. Cafe. This is a fun group where I play malletkat and synthesizers. I'll be joined by Sam Minaie on electric bass and Ari Hoenig on drums. One set at 8:30pm.

Adrian Rollini Trio - Early 30th - 4 mallets!

|
I just found this piture on Face Book, posted by John Pietaro and found very interesting to see certainly the first 4 mallet player in Adrian Rollini... that early!

From a comment on the picture by Paul Hansen "Rollini's piano chops gave him a very unique approach to early 4 mallet technique".

Still I learned in Gary's' book that Red Norvo had started 4 mallet and finally switched back to 2. The period seems roughly the same. Any idea?

TOTM - Scrapple From The Apple - Solo version

I know this was posted on the Virtual Vibraphone Day of Percussion, but I thought it might not have been available to all Vibeworkshoppers. I wanted to demonstrate playing "Scrapple" solo, comping the melody and playing a solo, concentrating on clear melodic lines and consistent time; a tremendous challenge to all who attempt solo vibraphone playing, especially playing a bebop tune and making it swing.
