Brisbane at 1800 by Kym Ambrose & Beto Lopes

This is a song that was recorded for our last CD. It was co-written by Beto Lopes on Gtr and Bass and myself. It's full name is Brisbane at 1800.
Beto started writing it at 6pm in our back yard watching the sunset. It is off Casa do Boa Vida by The View from Madeleine's Couch

Baião with vibes !

I just found this video of a popular TV show in Brazil. That's the first time I see a vibraphone used in music from north-east of Brazil. The rythm played is a medium baião, typical of this part of Brazil. The others instruments are very typical too. Interesting to see a young vibist playing in a such context. Proof for me that vibes is step by step infusing all the styles of music...The instrument is Brazil made.
The music starts at 0:48

Looking at Gary's pictures : venues in America or Europe

Hey Everyone,

But in the 1th place :
Hey Gary,

I have seen you perform in France this year,(Coutance Jazz), and I've been following the pictures you post of your tour.

My impression is, that the kind of places where you play, are totally different in Europe then in the states.

I get the feeling in Europe you (but also other artists) play more in concerthalls, places which are designed to perform on a stage, for a huge crowd.
While in the states it looks more like clubs, or more specific places.

I get the same impression with, for example, John Zorn.
