My One And Only Love - Solo Vibes (T.Dosdogru)
here´s another version of that tune i tried today. i tried to focus on playing the melody with nice dampening without to much ringing and to play in time instead of doing it rubato. it´s still difficult for me to play a piece like this nice on solo vibes no matter how much i practice it...

Mike Mainieri - New Morning - Paris Nov. 2012
My camera is not good at taking pictures from gigs. But I love this one from Monday's gig: Mike listening to Franck's bassist...
Listening... the first thing we all need to learn if we want to play "the truth"... This picture looks like a whole lesson to me... Thank you Maestro! :o)

Two days with Mike Mainieri
|
Man what a wonderful journey! It all started this Monday evening in Paris at the "New Morning". French vibist Franck Tortiller (vibes/marimba) and his trio (d-bass/drum) had a very special guest as Mike Mainieri.

The Thirteenth Floor by MetroWest Jazz Project (original composition swap meet)
Hi All,
Here's another one of my compositions from the CD project I'm working. It's called "The Thirteenth Floor". This track was created by cutting and pasting two different takes together, and I think the tempo difference between the two takes is too much, so we'll probably have to re-edit (feedback on this appreciated).
And any other comments or criticisms are great appreciated.

Syracuse by Babu
Studying lessons 1 and 2 of the intermediate course, I was wanting to find a tune where open and closed voicings could apply well in the same tune. I know it's the topic of a further lesson, but I was wanting to do something of my own, and here I found this tune, composed in 1962 by a great french guitarist and singer, Henri Salvador. This song is still very popular in France (the lyrics by Bernard Dimay are excellent too) and played by many musicians.
This is a rough version, I'll polish it with time, and post again.

Christos Rafalides/Sergio Salvatore - Live at Pasic 2012
PASIC 2012, Austin TX. The duo with Sergio Salvatore. This is right before the doors open. It was a fun concert. The new Omega Vibraphone by Malletech sounds fantastic.
