Hey everyone, To reaffirm my belief in the value of composing alternate melodies, I'd like to offer up a Free CD of mine to the first two people to post an alternate melody to any of the Tunes of the Month that we have gone over on the site! Post a lead sheet and an audio recording of you playing the melody if possible!

Hello fellow vibes players. I've been posting a lot of detailed lessons with PDFs the last few weeks, but something I've also been intending to do is just jump on once in a while and share a little idea of something that I find helpful, so here goes.
Color this!!

Hello everybody! This morning I had a go at Mean to Me, which for me is a tough tune to play. I think every jazz soloist of the swing and bebop eras has recorded that song : Bird, Sonny Stitt, Rollins, Dizzy, Frank Rosolino, Getz, Joe Pass, Milt Jackson, you name them ... There are really countless versions of Mean to Me. I did as best I could, at my level, but I know I have to work at it again. Cheers
I thought some may find this helpful as far as formulating a method to practice lines. Let me know if this helps!
