Updated version (voc+vib+dms)
Hi ! I posted this tune two days ago, and I took it off after an hour, because it sounded pretty horrible. I had done it in Bb, which is too high for me to sing in , the tempo was too slow and there were 6 choruses of it ! Here, it's in Ab, the right key for me, and I've cut it down to size.
Smokin!!!!
Check out these 2 versions of playing solo! Very interesting to me because they are very very different in there approach. Ted's is always a laid back approach and he has some great dampening technique down that he uses quite effortlessly. Patrice is a great classical player that does a great job crossing over into jazz. He's got some serious chops happening and his approach is really great.
I dug so much listening to both these guys back to back. They're both really worth studying and listening and watching.
Great stuff guys!
Pay no attention to the bald guy in front of the vibe. -- Just a computer nerd who likes to build stuff from time to time. Enjoy the pictures.
By the way keep playing.. The world needs more music.
He's smiling :)
I didn't take any pictures of the process of building the rails. Mostly because I have a proprietary way of making them so they work, in my opinion, better than the original.
This is actually the scary part. One slip or a wrong measurement and it's back to the wood store.
After painting I kept it upside-down for a few days. That way if there were any bad notes from previous play, they could drain out.
Stripped and primed resonators
Cutting assembly. It's finally starting to look like something real.
