Hello everyone, a little announcement here. I’m selling my JOG frame, it fits all wide Musser bars (M55, M48, M46, M58, M75) and also Ross and Majestic.
This frame was made by instrument manufacturer JOG from brazil. I purchased it new from the factory in 2006. Even though I love the instrument, I built a new prototype portable frame and therefore I’m not using the original frame anymore. Besides, I’m moving to a small place and won’t have room for the two frames. This frame was originally dismantled like a Musser 55 (with a one-piece keybed with folding legs), but it was converted to be dismantled like most yamaha or adams vibraphones, or like a marimba, with detaching rails. It comes with bags that fit this style of assembly, yet it can be still converted back to the old system by removing 4 bolts and adding 8 other bolts. The bags were made by a fine case maker in Chile using very high quality materials. Over the years they’ve withstood even air travel without a scratch, the zippers all work perfectly and they’re partially waterproof. They’re made with heavy duty tarpaulin material and they’re 3 in total (one for the legs, one for the resonators and one for the rails and crossbar and pedal).
This is a very sturdy frame, It never squeaks or rocks, even under the hardest playing conditions. The resonators don’t have pulsators, yet I’ve seen people in brazil using yamaha motors on these instruments. The resonators are very strong flat black powdercoated, and totally mint. They’re bolted with nylock nuts and have foam isolation to prevent buzzing and rattling. They’re also tunable and the lower end tubes are oval shaped, which produces a BIG sound. Stefon Harris got to use the instrument for a week some months ago and he loved that feature. The pedal has two independent springs and height adjusters for even dampening, and the felt is in very good shape. The bar posts are all open for fast assembly. it originally had a wide pedal which was removed due to material fatigue. Subsequently the crossbar was adapted to accommodate a standard Musser 55 pedal, which is not included in the package, but is easy to find on ebay and on some stores online.
