My Romance - Simple Etude by Tony Miceli

This is a very very simple etude based on the changes to 'My Romance'. Here's why I think it's cool. It simply states the changes to the tune. What you should do is:

  • Play the melody and chords first
  • Once you really here the tune and the key in your head, play the etude

Now this is an easy etude. You should be able to memorize it quickly. You should memorize it and then play it in different keys. This will be a really good harmony lesson for you if you play it through all the keys.

Ed Saindon updated website

Hey guys,

My website has been updated by vibist Jon Letsky. We're still in the process of tweaking some things, but there's quite a few things up on there now. All of my YouTube videos can be viewed directly from the website under the video section. Some of my past PAS articles and compositions can be downloaded. Lastly, there's information on my mallet, recordings and books on there as well.

Spammers Are Here

So it looks like the spammers have arrived. A couple things:

I've deleted 2 accounts in the last week.

If you see a funny post, put it in the shout box for us to see.

I might ask a few of you guys to take down any comments that looks funny and email me the user name.

If worse comes to worse, we'll have to review comments each night and release them.

Meanwhile I'll talk to my partner. We're using captcha, but I guess that's not enough. Just keep an eye out if you can.

Relaxing at Camarillo Excerpt by Bird - Transcribe This -V

I was playing along with this recording. The head is really interesting, rhythmic and syncopated. Birds solo is so simple and cool, just makes the changes.

I've been playing along with the melody and the solo for a couple days, and then trying to take my own choruses and keep Bird's vocabulary if I can. It's not easy for me.

So give it a shot if you want. It should not be difficult to transcribe.
