No vibraphone, I'm afraid, but since we talk so much about jazz on the site, I thought I would share some of my guitar playing. I started out as a guitarist and no matter how much I improve as a vibraphone player, I don't think I'll ever reach the same level of comfort. I don't play much anymore, usually just when it gets too late to practice vibes.

This is from a member of the site, his name is Bob L. This is pretty cool!

Attached are:
1. The page from the 1941 Leedy catalog, listing the vibraphone; all the details are the same, but for the resonator shapes in front. I ran an inflation calculator which revealed that $280 in 1941 is now worth $4,922. (So, prices on new vibes not so shocking after all!)

2. A picture of my vibes pre-restoration. (Purchased on ebay, for $650 around 2001).

3. After restoration, work done my me (except for sandblasting and spray painting the resonators).

this is my take on how I like to use my study career wise.

Followed by Mike Freeman and James Shipp (with Anat Cohen). The second half hour features Steve Nelson, Christian Tamburr, Dana Sudborough, Lionel Hampton and Mike Mainieri. Quite a group!
