Lesson from Tony M. Challenge was to play a solo. I have great difficulty playing anything but a very tuneful solo without getting lost. This is 1. melody line, 2. solo, 3. chord-tones with melody line.
Greetings VW!
I had some video from a recent gig with this group...am making progress with the electric setup, and wanted to share it with you all.
I had some guests join (kind of a Snarky Puppy type concert), also some great players in the band (Shane Theriot is lead guitarist with the band Hall & Oates & Live From Daryl's House, and is a monster jazz player too). Hope you will enjoy - there will be some more clips up in the future, so please subscribe on YouTube.
Here is another tune from Ms. Magnolia's first outing being recorded. Jeannie Brooks, vocals and Barry Sames piano.
Been playing with a new group recently called PanVibe. Lead pan and vibes are an interesting combination....been a lot of fun. Always enjoy playing this tune with its openness.

I'm trying to get my practice routine together. So I was wondering how different vibe players practice. How much time? What do you practice?
Solo clip of Monk's great tune Ask Me Now. Focusing on some steady left hand comping along with interspersed two hand runs for fills in this clip. Tricky changes with lots of II-7 V7s.
Excerpt from clinic in Milan playing Black Orpheus.
So, for those of you who may have been following my saga of wanting, then finally obtaining a Deagan Imperial, here is the beginning of the end result of what I have been working on.
