Forum Topic: Kosth vibraphone - is anyone familiar with this instrument?

Is anyone familiar with Kosth vibraphones. I'm not sure if I should recommend this instrument to a young student of mine. It's for sale on kijiji.ca at http://www.kijiji.ca/v-piano-keyboard/belleville/vintage-kosth-vibrapho…

I'm guessing it's Jenco quality. If it's in good shape, I suppose it's worth the $500 they're asking. Can a young student benefit from it and enjoy playing it?

Any thoughts would be helpful.

Thanks!

Forum Topic: Musser set of bars

Hello everyone :)

I'm Ben, a french percussionist, vibist of MAGMA (progressive rock band).

I normally travel with a VanderPlas set of bars in 440Hz for yamaha vibraphone but it's not a solution for touring around the world beacause it's more and more difficult to find a Yamaha 3710 or 2700 to put my system on (pickups and K&K rails) even in Japan (!!)

So i'm looking for an old musser set of bars (in 440Hz if possible)

Forum Topic: Musser M45 for sale.

Hey everyone. I have a Musser M45 that I am looking to part with. Its a really great sounding instrument. The reason why I am selling it is because I am going to by a model with graduated bars. It is in pretty good condition. The only thing is a dent on one of the resonators which does not effect the sound. It is a great sounding instrument! Also the bars had to tuning adjusted to A=440. I am really not sure how much these go for so just make me an offer and we can negotiate.

Forum Topic: What to sell, Auraora II or Musser M55

I submitted a post a few months back about a set of Musser M-55s that I was restoring and planning to sell. Well, I have just about completed the restoration except for repainting the tubes and mounting the control box more securely. the problem, is, now that I have restored the M-55s, I am struggling whether to part with them. These were built in the early 1970s, and I purchased them from a guy who owned them a year and then his wife made him sell them, since he was not playing. These vibes are better than the M-55s Musser is currently selling, mainly because of the frames.

Forum Topic: Malletkat Pro - value help?

I am contemplating selling a Malletkat Pro that I got for my son back in 2009 that I've had in storage.
It includes the 3 octave body, plus (2) one octave add-ons......5 octaves total. All notes work fine.
+ Foot pedal, cables, manual, wall wort power pack.
When I turn it on, it says it's version 3.6 YWS
What should be the asking price? I've had a hard time finding any history of sales on these.
thanks

Update: I checked Alternate Mode KAT's website. Looks like I can get the chip that upgrades the MalletKat from V3.6 to V6.1 for $179.

Forum Topic: Custom 3-1/2 Octave VanderPlas Vibraphone for Sale [Model LW 3.5]

Custom 3-1/2 Octave VanderPlas Vibraphone for Sale [Model LW 3.5]

Custom built by Nico VanderPlas, one of the most innovative vibraphone makers of the last decades. Nico was one of the first, if not the first vibe engineer to use a silicone gel-filled damper pad. He was also the first to use an innovative pedal system which moves the pedal moves straight down away from the bars, rather than angling away from the bars. This ensures that dampening of all bars happens at the same time.

This is pretty much a one-of-a-kind vibraphone.
