Day 4: All the chords are in open position. Although they're in open position, you will see that some of the chords still have a lot of crunchiness. Try memorizing these voicings and maybe try them in a few different keys.

Day 3: You will notice some open position chords in this progression. They are on the ii-V part. The tonic chords are still closed. Make note of the crunchiness in the closed chords.

Day 2: We've changed the top note of each chord to a G. No matter where the harmony goes, this is the note all the chords hover around. These are closed position chords.

Chinese translation is for Chinese students

Chinese translation is for Chinese students

So here's the deal. I wrote an etude of all eighth notes. It's important for us to be able to weave through the changes, up and down and up and down. It's important for us to move the line in seconds. We do it much more easily with 3rds,…

I found out today that Marimba One now makes a set of vibes that they call One Vibraphone. Has anyone played one of these? How would you rate it on sound quality, portability, quality of construction, etc. Thanks, Ted

The springless string tension holder for the bar string is a must! It's so easy, improves the sound of the instrument by allowing the player to easily choose the tension on the string and as the string stretches over time, you don't have…
