Hey guys,

I sale my Xylosynth Wernick. It's as new - 2800 Euros with Flight case.

I'm very happy about it, but I need cash. I'm located in East France, so the wole country or Germany should be ok for you. Attached is a picture.

For any info/request, email me at: moerimba@hotmail.fr

Thanks!

Benoit

I wonder. I don't know much of the differences between xylosynth and mallet kat but I thought they were quite similar in many points. So I'm surprised you can dampen on kat and not on xylo...

Can you tell us more?

Hi Benoit,
Just to say you can dampen individual bars with the right technique and the sound set so that there is very little or no sound for light hits (this might need setting on the sound source: Entry Level=0 or a very low number).
To practice this technique firstly press and hold down the dampening pedal (or set the note length knob on the Xylosynth to maximum), then hit a bar at medium hardness and the sound is heard sustaining. Vibe sound is great for this practice as it sustains with little decay. Now while it is sustaining play a very light hit and the sound stops or a very little sound is heard. Now after some practice for this light hit (and for show, some players can make it look like they are just pressing down on the bar but actually they are just giving the bar an initial impact to kill the sound and then sliding along the bar for visual effect)you can introduce this into your music. The way I achieve it is to just let the mallet drop about an inch (depending on the mallet being used) onto the surface of the bar.
I will try to get a video together to show this.
