I mos to say I have this castanets!
because tthis woman come our orchestra and after her performance she give me as a gifth to me!
she is very famous in our country !
this is the castañetes I´m using from long time ago!
wow very cool video. beside she really makes great dynamics and plays great i wonder about the recording technique used here.
the castagnets are loud and clear even if the whole orchesters plays tutti they still cut through and on the quiet passages she´s not too loud. as far i can see in front of her is only this small mic which seems to be a schoeps small condenser microphon but even if she moves away from the mic to the side the sound almost remains the same.the mic is very small not like a big neumann which would totally disturb the view to the player.so the shoeps mics would also be great for us to use on the vibraphon i think. i always wonder about those things...we sometimes cry about the vibes not being loud enough to cut through a big band. just think about this.
