"Driftin'"

As you may already know, Buzzy Linhart overdubbed the vibes part on the Hendrix tune "Driftin'" from the album The Cry Of Love. Obviously we don't know if Jimi would have chosen to use vibes since he was deceased at the time of the overdub. But I suspect Hendrix would have been inclined to experiment with the vibes if the technology permitted it for live use, AND I suspect he might have used vibes more in the studio if the players at the time were friends of his. I say that mostly as an observation based on Jimi playing electric harpsichord on
Burning of the Midnight Lamp" - an unusual choice. Jimi tended to work with his friends rather than studio musicians.
