Hi Gary,

I saw in the Shout Box that you had a tour coming up with the Piazzolla band. I'm a huge fan of Piazzolla and I know you are as well. His music is very deep and emotional. I have his book about his life. It seemed that he had very difficult times at various points throughout his lifetime. Also, it appears that he was very meticulous about his music and took his music very seriously.

Wow! Gary Burton is playing a few dates with Pat Metheny on the east coast and will be in Philly!

Here's Ed Saindon's version of 'It Might As Well Be Spring'.

Ok here's my version of 'It Might As Well Be Spring'. I've included an image from my Itunes song list. You can see how many versions I still have. I probably threw out just as many. I studied the $($% out of that tune. It was so inspiring to be hanging virtually with Ed and John and Studying tunes. Somewhere we discuss our tunes, I have to find that. It's not up here already is it?

Here's the next tune I thought we'd check out and study.

Ed Saindon's 'Life's Blessing'. I asked Ed if he would make a solo recording to get us started. Hopefully he will. Regardless let's all start checking this tune out and talking about it and practicing it like we did with Joe Locke's tune 'Sword of Whisper'.

Maybe Phillipe could make the play along!!!

So download the tune and start working on it. I'm sure Ed will give us a hand and talk about it. Maybe he'd even do an audio lesson for us?

The biography of Marjorie Hyams is quite short. She was born in 1923 and as said Scott Yanow "if [she] had not retired prematurely, she would be much better-known today.
