Etude 15 from Vibraphone Technique (Dampening and Pedaling) by David Friedman
Blues in the Closet G F Bb Ab
Oleo
I'm always looking for video or audio of Joel Ross but it seems hard to dig stuff up on him. I just want to check him out as he's a young up and coming vibe player who's on the scene. The stuff I've heard sounds great!
I found this album (not under his name). Just started listening to it and thought I'd pass it along.
Here's a link to the article.
Mike Dillon is a pretty 'colorful' vibe player in our little world.
He's def someone using the vibes in an unusual context.
Here's an article with video:

I always listen to other instruments play solo. It teaches you how to accompany yourself. The different ways. Our model is usually the piano which I think is not the best model for us. I like the guitar especially. That being said, it's also great to listen to piano players play and accompany themselves.
Oleo in B Flat (with guide tones in the bridge), Blues in the Closet in F, B flat, E flat, and G major.
Exploring on this classic song using voicings from my new book "Voicing Concepts for the Jazz Vibist" now available from Amazon.
The book addresses a variety of voicing concepts as applied to the II-7 V7 I Maj progression as well as standards including Autumn Leaves, Green Dolphin Street, Stella By Starlight. Also included, chord melodies to You Are Too Beautiful and But Beautiful.
