Motivic Playing: Practicing today at Berklee on "All Of Me" with a focus on motives. More or less changing motives every eight measures. Motivic Playing is a chapter in The Complete Guide To Improvisation Volume Two.
A dyslexic pianist and a vibraphonist with dementia go to a jam session. The pianist calls " Heaven Steps to Seven". The vibist says, " I don't know that one ". The pianist says, "Don't worry, it's easy to marimba!"
===== OK.. So there aren't a whole lot of good vibes jokes. Feel free to contribute better ones here.

I'm Your Pal by Steve Swallow Vibe Solo by David Kovins
In Portuguese its Na Ilha De Lia, No Barco De Rosa. A beautiful composition by Edu Lobo from the most recent Phil Degreg and Brasilia album. We had a lot of fun recording this...such a beautiful melody.

I have set the MalletKat Pro on "marimba" User Kit 28 for SouthOfTheBorder, and on "steel drums" User Kit 29 for Margaritaville. For the rest of the gig it was set on "vibes" User Kit 36, which has sustain and dampen functions. The midi sounds are self-contained in the keyboard, and the speaker box is a little CUBE-20X. It's not much of a speaker, but in an upper register, it doesn't matter. And fidelity, in a room full of folks eating dinner and playing with a 14-piece band, is not a major concern.
