Hi everyone,
The July edition of Good Vibes airs on Sunday, July 5th. This month's three-by is Mike Mainieri,
A few months back Tyler Blanton suggested writing new melodies to standards as a way to get into a more compositional improvising approach. I wrote this tune over some alternate changes to Stella I came up with. But I think it works over the standard changes too.
(sorry for the bad piano playing!--vibe is unavailable at the moment)
Hey I thought this would be a cool way to introduce myself. My names Matt and im a philly/south jersey based trumpet player and I started picking up the vibes a few months ago and taking lessons with tony here and there. I recorded a chord melody to my romance and wanted to see if you guys had any suggestions.
Thanks!
This etude has similarities to the melody; see if you can find them :)
