Today was the first day of the Workshop in the near of Warsaw in Poland. It is unbelievable beatuifull here! (We say its like the shire in lord of the rings)
David, Robert (a student of david) and I, drove this morning with the train from Berlin to warsaw and now we had a great first evening here with elwira and Gabrielle (the marimba duo who organised the workshop).
I'm very exited for the next days, because robert and I are the only studentes here!!!! :D 3 teachers two students.
Here is a picture of the concert hall where we practised this evening.
Hey,
This is yesterday's take, which I post with little frustration I must admit. You see this has a few little mistakes. (for me, more experienced players will maybe think different. But try to look through my glasses).
It is proven again that 'a performance' is no mathematics. You see, yesterday, (so this take) my energy was good, and I had the feel a little magic happened. So I figured. Let's do it again tomorrow, but without those little mistakes.
Hell no. Small detail. Today was not yesterday, and my playing was OK, but somehow it didn't have the same feeling I liked.
Practicing Smog Eyes (Lennie Tristano) - There will never be another you (Harry Warren) trying to expand harmony with different extensions, triads and creating new cycles between the chords.

Hauke is among our youngest (and newest) members. We met him in Wuppertal last February. Here is a beautiful piece he wrote for vibes and marimba (wow)... Enjoy...
Here's a chord study on Darn That Dream. I left the pedal markings off and the chords. First, you guys know I think you should write in each chord and check out the alterations. As for the pedal, it's common sense with these sorts of etudes. As well as the dampening and pedaling. As my mother used to say to me about things.... "You're a big boy, you can do it". If you're tackling and etude like this, you know how to pedal.
