David's music is on my laptop that I travel with, so whenever I travel, I check him out. I dig this cat. He really plays great and interesting. If you guys get a moment check him out and let me know what you think.
Here a live recording of a gig I played yesterday, using a play-along I do by myself (bass and guitar + rythm box). Far from perfect, but on this one I was able to use some dampening in my solo, little victory for me !
hi,
i just can´t stop buying buying reel to reel tapes. this is the rolls royce of the late ´70´s. Tandberg TDA20 SE with fastest tape speed and 2 track recording. i love the sound of it!
the song is a composition by John Scofield on his "meant to be" record, which is one of my favourites. i thought it would be a good choice to play solo vibes. hope you like it!

I just got one of those new frames put on my Musser, and I really love the new stability, wheels that stay on and wheels that really lock!
HOWEVER, I am interested in the height adjustment. I have played the vibes many years at that 'standard' level. But I am six feet, and it occurs to me that it might be more ergodynamic to raise the instrument a notch. This would mean that I would stand more upright, and perhaps give a better angkle of mallet attack.
I tried this out, but was a little too weirded by the added 5 cm, so I put it back.
Hi!
I've inherited an old vibraphone (at least 20 years).
It made by Premier, but thats pretty much all I know.
It's not in playable condition, but i'm thinking of getting it work again.
Heres some pictures, tell me what u know. http://www.flickr.com/photos/74100590@N04/
Hey guys!
This is my new quartet. This record was made in a concert last november, in a club near Malaga, my city.
We're playing a cool tune! Soul-leo, Mulgrew Miller's tune.
Enjoy it! I accept all of your reviews!
Here's some ideas for comping in a slow 5/4.
I have a great idea for an article for PAS. What do you guys think?
The top 10 or 20 or 25 must have CDs for a vibe player. We would pick them and vote on them and write reviews on them. Every one who writes a short review would get credit.
But we'd have the must have CDs for young and up and coming vibe players.
just thinking out loud, what do you guys think?? And what do you think Ed?
