Wow! That was amazing. Does that tune have every vibe technique in it? I like the marimba effect with the stack of paper. I haven't seen that before. I just tried it. Neat!
He used to bow to dampen notes...seems obvious but I've never seen that done. Interesting how he coaxed harmonics from the lower bars with his finger. I don't care for atonal music but I loved this performance!
Also nice Tremolo break! He's using the same Adams model that i have (with additional low E)
Seems he uses two mallets of different hardness? Hard one for the pitch bend effects?
A few of my students have played Morning Dove Sonnet.Takes a while to get used to holding a bow and mallet in each hand...actually you have to be careful not to hurt yourself. The pitch bend thing takes a little work as well especially since your carting around the bows! We found that short bass bows are the best bet.....and lots of rosin. Chris writes lots of interesting music.
