I've recently discovered Roy Ayer's early work, most noticeably the albums West Coast Vibes and Virgo Vibes. These sound absolutely fantastic!
I'm less into the loungy stuff that he is more famous for but these albums are really worth the listen.
Deep playing for sure. On a side note, I can't tell for sure, but it looks like he's using the musser electrovibe pickups. Notice he has the resonator fans spinning, but the tremolo isn't coming out in the mix. Way cool, Tony, thanks for posting.
