A friend bought this Layolo vibraphone.
Never heard of it. I think it is build in Italy.
Who knows more?

Listen to that French baroque piece written in 1717 and see how modern it can sound with a feel of jazz improvisation. It’s so fun to play ! ;-)
“Four” - working on the left hand today. This is a work in progress. Trying to keep busy and productive. If I can be of any help with any vibraphone related questions feel free to ask. I have more time on my hands. :) As with most of all the schools, I'll be teaching online starting next week for Berklee. It's going to be interesting.
You're assignment is to learn the melody.
Post a comment here that says you know it, or post a video of you playing simply the melody. Do this before you go on to lesson two.
I added the lead sheet below.
These are individual tracks each of one note on the vibraphone.
Download this. Put it on your phone like a CD.
Play the "album", set it to shuffle. Play a note, stop it. Find it on your instrument. Eventually You'll be able to let it play and follow it. It's super great ear training.
Just do it, 5-10 minutes a day. After a while, 5 is plenty.
Don't go fishing for the write note. Use your ears if you play a wrong note. Sing you're note if it's wrong and then sing the other note.
Don't waste a lot of time thinking,'use the force'.
Some ideas for things to do while we are all huddled up in our homes because of the Corona Virus. It's also for after all this is over as well. It's using Play alongs and Playlists to keep tunes in your head!
Just check out his four mallet playing. I've hung with him and talked about this with him. He thinks in a different way about harmony and I think it's incredible. He's not worried about roots or anything, he's just gliding up and down the keyboard.
I made this for my student Nathan, but I'd love to see who else wants to do this.
I play All Blues with an Aebersold recording. You play the melody and at the end. I solo first. You comp for me and I comp for you. Comp in the lower octave and solo in the middle and up high as much as you can. That way we will stay out of each others way a bit.
