Four for Joel

You know the drill. This is the tune Four.

You write in the chords, study my voicings.

Are they rootless?
What parts of the chords are there.

Then play it.

The second chorus is a simple solo outling the harmony.

"I'll Remember April"

"I'll Remember April" - a little shedding in the basement studio after a full day of teaching online. The past two days of teaching have been great. Everyone called in at the designated time and we were off and running. Especially amazing since they were calling from all over the world (Hong Kong, Columbia, Portugal, Paris,...) Wonderful seeing all of the students and seeing how they are doing with everything that's been happening. We covered a lot of material and I think the rest of the semester will be very productive.

Practicing Some Sight Reading - Duets With Annie

Annie is my girlfriend. We live together. she is a very good classical flute player. We sight read together a lot...... and she laughs at me sometimes. My sight reading is not that good.

This post is during the time of the Corona Virus, maybe by the end of this, I'll be a much better sight reader. We will see.

So, I've attached the duet part. Practice it and play along with annie! You can get a chance to be in my shoes!

DIY Vibraphon Bars: Step 2 - Bar Macro Geometry

Here are the informations to step 2 of our DIY bar production.
Please go to
http://wyndorps.de/E_index.htm
and follow Step 2.

In this post I am focussing on the bar macro geometry, because it has a big influence on sound and frame.

What do you think about the idea to create an about 10% lighter bar set using the same width graduation as M55 or Omega instead of keeping the bar width constant on a minimum of 1.5" for youth vibraphones?
