A great Duke Ellington tune played by me (Kristina O'Dea) on vibes and Evan Kilgore on sax. There's a couple mistakes, but overall I think it sounds pretty good. Let me know what you think! Thanks!
This is from an old Double Image CD of the same name, with myself on Vibes, Samuels on marimba.
I think it's our first duo CD. I wrote the tune, which later became a part of a percussion ensemble piece called, "20 Minutes off the Pavement". In those days the priority was time and precision. We didn't do too much free playing or tremendously adventurous improvisation.
The Omega from Malletech! What a beautiful instrument. The cool thing is Leigh really listened to the pros and made an instrument the pros students and colleges would REALLY want to have and play. I think this is the beginning of something great!
The great thing is, it's portable and sturdy.
