I received my new M55 today. I am very happy. My University has a really old M55. Comparing the new one to the old one I am really happy. Musser basically took all the small things that could have been improved and improved on them! I am really happy with this vibraphone.
However, Shipping damaged the Motor controller. It is hanging there =/ And the off light is smashed. So I will have to get them to replace that.

When the damper bar is up, there is the slightest ring in my high notes "Ab and Bb". How do I get rid of that slight ring?

Thanks,
This is one of the posters I designed for Tony's gig in Ireland during his stay here, it features some fine musicians based here an of course the "Teach" himself. Really looking forward to these gigs.

Hey Chick82!
You joined us some 2 months ago as subscriber and we quite often see you online. You even had the nice thought of wishing Tony a happy birthday on the chat... But we don't hear much from you... hardly a comment, no post...
I can see that you're living in Italy. Can you tell us more about you?.... Please!! :o)

i try to get rid of my own cliches and try to get some sort of "new" aspects to my playing. this kind of solo i would never play on a reharsel or gig but i think it´s important to play some wiered stuff sometimes, to get used to the sound and if even just 1 or 2 small ideas of a 10 minutes solo work out ok or good you get something out of it.
3 main things i tried on this practice tape:
1) try to keep an idea once you established it
The vibes are here! Not permanently (they belong to the high school), but it's something to work on. It's an Adam's "Vibraphone Concert". Excited already!
this is one piece of my last gig on sunday, written by my friend the guitar player jan called: trenne nie st
funny is: i forgot to play the head again at the end of my solo.i only realized this because of the video.

p.s. i thought it´s fair to post this video since i could not play at hang although tony and dana tried to convince me...now you see why i could not :)
I was playing the piano and wanted to randomly choose a tune out of the RealBook, and opened to Lament by J. J. Johnson. I think it is a beautiful ballad. Here is my attempt of an arrangement for vibes. I tried to get the fullness I was getting on the piano, but it is tough on (my) vibes. Maybe at some point, I will record piano, and play vibes on top of it. I found that Ted posted a piano/vibes duet of Lament (see Check This Out, above). And here is Milt http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vgjs2qUXqy0.
Check out Joe's new mallets. They are really great! i dig them!
Did this commercial for Mike Balter, who is a supporter of vibesworkshop! (Thanks Mike)
